Every question answered — honestly, clearly, and without the runaround.
The Work and Process
What if I don't like the first draft?
Every commission includes one round of revisions. Share what feels off — the tone, a lyric, the energy — and I'll rework it until it feels exactly right.
Can I hear the song before the slideshow is finished?
Yes — if you've ordered the Song and Slideshow package, the song is delivered first for your approval before the visual edit begins.
What if the song's mood feels wrong when I hear it?
That's what revisions are for. Tell me specifically what isn't landing and I'll adjust — whether it's tempo, tone, lyrics, or overall feel.
How long is a typical song?
Most songs run between 2.5 and 4 minutes — long enough to tell the story fully, short enough to hold every listener's attention.
What genres or styles can you write in?
From country and folk to pop, R&B, hip hop, cinematic orchestral, and beyond — the style is chosen to fit the person and the moment, not the other way around.
How do you learn enough about someone to write their song?
Through a simple conversation — I ask the right questions to draw out the details that matter. Most people are surprised how much they have to share once we start talking.
Will my song sound professional?
Every song is fully produced — live instrumentation, professional mixing, and mastered audio delivered as MP3 and WAV. It sounds like something you'd hear on the radio. Listen to some of our examples on the main page.
Can I keep my song private?
Absolutely. Your song belongs to you. It will never be shared, published, or used without your explicit permission.
What if I want to add more songs later?
Many clients come back for a second or third commission — for another person, another occasion, or another moment worth marking. Returning clients receive a loyalty discount.
Timing and Delivery
How long does it take?
Most songs are delivered in as little as 48 hours from our first conversation. Complex projects or full Song and Slideshow packages may take slightly longer — but never weeks.
Can you rush delivery?
In most cases yes — reach out directly and we'll discuss your timeline. Same day delivery has been done before.
What format do I receive? Can I play it on a TV?
Can I play it on a TV? Your song is delivered as MP3 and WAV files — playable on any device, TV, phone, speaker, or computer. The slideshow is delivered as an HD MP4 video file, ready for any screen.
What if I need the piece after the event has passed?
A song doesn't expire. Many commissions are ordered after the moment — as a keepsake, a tribute, or a belated gift. It will mean just as much.
What if my event is tomorrow?
Reach out immediately — explain your timeline and we'll do everything possible to make it happen. Urgency has never stopped a song from getting written.
How will my files be delivered?
Securely via download link sent directly to your email — available immediately and yours to keep, download, and share forever.
Payment and Policy
How does payment work?
Payment is made in full at the time of commission. We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and Venmo. Once payment is received your song moves immediately into production.
Who owns the song after it is delivered?
You do — completely. Once delivered the song is yours to keep, share, perform, and pass down. Everstory retains the right to use it as a portfolio sample unless you request otherwise. You cannot sell the song.
Can I buy a gift certificate for someone else?
Yes — gift certificates are available for any amount. The recipient can redeem it whenever they're ready and commission their own song. Contact Fen directly to arrange one.
What is your refund policy?
Because every song is written specifically for one person, refunds are not available once composition has begun. If something isn't right we'll revise it until it is. We are sure you are going to love it.
Can I use a discount code?
Yes — apply it at checkout. Discount codes are offered seasonally and through referrals. Follow Everstory on social media to stay updated.
Can I commission a song anonymously as a gift?
Absolutely. Many songs are surprise gifts. We keep everything confidential and can even help you plan the perfect reveal moment.
Occasions and Use Cases
Can a song be written for a business or brand?
Yes — brand anthems, company culture songs, and professional themes are all within scope. If your brand has a story worth telling, we can write it.
Can you write a song for a political campaign?
Yes — campaign songs and political anthems have been commissioned through Everstory. A song that captures a candidate's vision and voice is one of the most powerful tools in any campaign.
Can I commission a song for someone who has passed away?
Yes — and these are among the most meaningful pieces we create. A memorial song captures a life fully lived and gives those left behind something to hold onto forever.
Can a song be written for a pet?
a beloved pet is a member of the family and their story deserves to be told just as much as anyone else's.
Is there any occasion or person you won't write for?
If the story is honest and the intention is good, we'll write it. Every person and every moment deserves to be celebrated — no matter how unconventional.
Can a song be used at a funeral or memorial service?
Yes — and it is one of the most powerful ways a song can be used. Many families have played a commissioned song at a service as the final tribute to someone they love.
Getting Started
How do I begin?
Simply fill out the form on the Commission page or reach out directly by phone or text. There's no commitment required to start the conversation.
What happens after I fill out the form?
Fen will reach out personally — usually within a few hours — to learn more about your story and confirm the details of your commission.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before reaching out?
Not at all. Most people come with a feeling, not a plan. That's exactly where we start — with a conversation that draws out everything the song needs to be.
How much information do I need to provide?
As much or as little as you have. The more you share the richer the song — but even a few details about a person can be enough to build something extraordinary.
What if I'm not good at describing things?
That's what the conversation is for. You don't need to be a writer or know the right words — you just need to know the person. We'll handle the rest.
What if I have more questions before committing?
Reach out directly — call, text, or email. There's no pressure and no obligation. If you're here something matters to you and that's enough reason to start a conversation.
Still not finding what you need? Reach out directly — Fen responds personally.
